Carolyn Seabolt: Carolyn says, "My studio is called Cat Tracks; it's surrounded by beautiful flower and vegetable gardens that are alive with excitement, color, and the songs of many birds.  My inspiration comes from my love of nature and my cats".

As an artist, I work in a variety of media.  I find it most satisfying to be able to combine techniques and materials to produce a work of art."

Gayle Mathues calls herself a fiber artist. All of her life she has been fascinated with textiles and fibers of every kind. Her medium of choice these days is wool. She needle felts and sculpts wool into animals, flowers, gnomes, mermaids... anything is fair game and this is what makes her heart go pitty pat. Gayle makes small animals like bunnies, chicks, songbirds, squirrels, bats, and many others, as well as larger animals like horses and bears, and more recently dragons. Most of her work is realistic with a touch of whimsy. She also wet felts and dry felts 2-D "paintings" with wool. She is a Sarafina certified instructor and has  taught needle felting at Common Ground on the Hill in Westminster, Carroll Arts Center, the Natural History Society of Maryland, and other venues.

Ona C. Martin: Throughout a long and immensely satisfying career in biological research, Ona had also been quietly studying and applying the classical oil painting techniques of the Old Masters. At Hogpen Art Studio, she frequently scouts around her 1880’s farmhouse, barn, and outbuildings for ideas for landscapes and still lives.

Although she often use new modern frames, she also finds, collects, and restores antique frames for reuse, and indeed designs some paintings so that the frame unifies her overall concept.

Commissions for custom oil paintings, including pet and house portraits,  are always welcome! If you have a photo or idea that you would like to bring to life, email her to start a conversation:  ona@hogpenartstudio.com
